Making Pilates Work For You
November 22, 2023
How many times each week do you get a chance to work out? For most of us, it’s less than we’d like – and probably less than we used to – so we need to make what we do count. Often seen as a side act, Pilates has been taking over as a preferred exercise for those who;
- have limited time,
- who want to feel great,
- those who need support and stretch as much as they need power and cardio.
The elements of a great Pilates class cover everything from stretch, burn, and power, and will give you maximum bang for your exercise buck. Even one or two Pilates classes per week will support your flexibility, posture, alignment, breathing, cardio, resistance training and stretch. Pilates gets to all the smaller muscle groups and allows you to strengthen around areas of pain or weakness, such as knees or lower back. We work hard, but after each sequence we stretch the various muscles and finish feeling strong.
If you’re short of time, need to get moving and want to fill your cup at the same time, give Pilates a go. Because it is low impact, it suits any age or ability, and we can modify to suit various needs and circumstances. Check out our full schedule for how you can fit healing movement and power moves into your week on a regular basis.
